The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance is an essential and effective part in the development of the educational institution by obligating the faculties and centers at the university to apply local and international accreditation standards in order to keep pace with the development that is taking place in the world and competition in the age of technology. The presence of this department has become necessary and important in continuing to distinguish and compete between universities.

The department spreads a culture of quality and continuous improvement for all colleges, centers and units of the university in terms of holding seminars, conferences, meetings and workshops in the field of quality and academic accreditation.

The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance of the University of Basra consists of four divisions, which are as follows:

1- Quality Assurance Division

2- Performance Evaluation Division

3- Laboratory Accreditation Division

4- Training and Technical Support Division
